Mikawachi-yaki refers to porcelain produced in a locality in the Sasebo City, in Nagasaki. Also called hirado-yaki, this pottery is characterized by its cobalt blue motifs. With Arita-yaki and Hasami-yaki also in the area, the northwest of Kyûshû Island is renown for the porcelain it produces.
